Impact Build is a new startup (ETH label pending) that aims to decarbonize construction through robotic manufacturing. Our core technology,
Impact Printing, is an innovative off-site and on-site robotic additive manufacturing process for sustainable, low-carbon construction. To support the commercialization and technical development of this technology, we are looking for a motivated intern to join our interdisciplinary team.
This position will be administratively handled by the Chair of Architecture and Digital Fabrication of ETH Zurich (Gramazio Kohler Research), which examines the changes in architectural production that result from the introduction of robotic and digital manufacturing techniques.
The candidate will support the team in the realization of 1:1 prototypes. The internship (full-time) spans 3 months and is funded according to standard regulations, with a possibility for extension. The earliest start date is 01.04, but later is also possible.
Job description - Support the realization of 1:1 full-scale prototypes
- Assist in robotic fabrication and digital production workflows
- Contribute to material testing, system optimization, and physical prototyping
- Support documentation, visualization, and technical development
- Additional tasks based on interests and skills (product development, interface development, ect)
Profile - The candidate should be a student or recent graduate from architecture, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field with strong skills in digital fabrication, physical prototyping, and ideally good knowledge in programming
- Other skills which could be relevant include rendering, computer science (with a specific focus on front-end interface development)
- Fluency in English is required for this position and German is a plus
- You should be reliable, accurate, have a high level of initiative and be able to work independently while concurrently having excellent teamwork and communication skills
We offer - Hands-on experience with robotic additive manufacturing at 1:1 scale
