Join our Business Functions team as a Data Science Intern and help transform airline ground operations through Python, Azure, automation, and scalable data pipelines. Gain hands-on experience across data engineering, analytics, and visualization while contributing to the complex and dynamic process chain behind airline operations.

- Automate data pipelines with optimized Python solutions to streamline operations and analysis.
- Leverage Azure services for data storage, transformation, and deployment.
- Develop workflow automations using Power Automate to support operational and administrative processes.
- Analyze Lufthansa Group (LHG) ground operations data to derive actionable insights.
- Identify and refine data-related requirements from various business and operational stakeholders.
- Support the development of dashboards and visualization tools for operational performance monitoring.
Requirements
We are looking for a self-driven, motivated individual with a strong affinity for airline operations and a willingness to support our AQ/GB team. We offer an exciting workplace with a wide variety of topics and development opportunities, located at ZRH.
- Workload: A 100% workload is preferred for this position
- Educational background: University degree with a quantitative focus (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or related fields)
- Technical skills: Strong coding abilities, including applied knowledge of SQL and advanced proficiency in at least one programming language (such as Python or R)
- Data visualization: Experience with Tableau, Power BI, or similar visualization tools is an advantage
- Cloud computing: Familiarity with Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms is considered a plus
- Strategic mindset: Ability to translate analytical insights into actionable commercial value
- Language skills: Excellent spoken and written English; German fluency is an asset
