The research group of Prof. Müller, Laboratory of Energy Science and Engineering at ETH Zürich is looking for a highly motivated candidate with a strong expertise and interest in the development of heterogeneous catalysts and their in-depth characterization. Generally, LESE is focusing on the development, characterization and advancement of heterogeneous catalysts and (solid) CO2 sorbents.
Job descriptionSpecifically, in this project we aim to develop a new class of active catalysts for methanol synthesis from CO2 under industrially relevant conditions. The position is founded by Innosuisse and the project is in close collaboration with an industrial partner.
ProfileApplicants for the position are expected to have earned a PhD in heterogeneous catalysis with documented expertise in catalyst synthesis and characterization. We are looking for motivated, committed, creative individuals able to work in a team and with excellent communication skills. Working in a top-level research environment with advanced laboratory infrastructure, the candidate will have a unique opportunity to develop further their research abilities. The position is available from November 2025 onwards.
